Usually not on its own. A single glass claim goes under comprehensive coverage, and many insurers don't surcharge for one. The trouble starts when claims add up.

ClearPass repairs and replacements aren't filed with your insurer, so they don't add to the count.
Arizona law requires insurers that sell comprehensive coverage to offer optional glass coverage with no deductible (A.R.S. § 20-264). Combine that with desert heat, highway gravel and nonstop construction, and glass claims are easy to rack up. Each "free" windshield is still a claim that goes on your record.
These drivers used coverage they paid for. ClearPass gives you a way to fix your windshield without adding to the count.

$10.99, $15.99 or $20.99 per vehicle per month, depending on the vehicle and its windshield. Tier A covers most vehicles without a windshield camera, Tier B covers camera-equipped, 2024 or newer and premium-brand vehicles, and Tier C covers heads-up display windshields, Tesla and select 2022 or newer luxury models. If more than one tier applies, the higher one does.
No. ClearPass is a windshield service membership with Universal Glass. It isn't an insurance policy and doesn't replace your auto insurance. Universal Glass does the work directly, so nothing is filed with your insurer.
A single glass claim often doesn't raise your rate by itself, but glass claims can stay in the C.L.U.E. Auto database for up to seven years and can count toward how many claims you've filed. Several claims can cost you a claims-free discount, affect your renewal or make it harder to get a quote from another insurer. ClearPass repairs and replacements don't create an insurance claim.
In Arizona, insurers may decline to renew an auto policy for nearly any reason except protected ones such as age, race, religion or where in Arizona you live, and they must tell you the reason in writing. Drivers do report non-renewals and denied quotes after multiple glass claims. Ask your agent how your insurer treats glass claims.
That's a decision for you and your insurance agent. You can keep glass coverage and simply stop filing glass claims, or ask your agent whether removing it would change your premium. Talk to your agent before changing your policy.
